My name is Jo'Ann R Garcia, and this will be my18th year teaching at Banquete High School.  I graduated from Texas A & M Kingsville with a teaching philosophy that all students are worthy and capable of learning.  I also received a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and am currently a doctoral student at TAMUCC in the Curriculum, Instruction, and Learning Sciences program.  My husband and I live in Agua Dulce with five children - two having graduated from Banquete High School and TAMUK.  We also have a Bullpup at Banquete Elementary School and two Bulldogs at Banquete High School this year.

I love my district and work wholeheartedly at helping the children from this community receive a quality education.  Reading is my passion, and I try to foster the passion I have for literature in my students.  Writing is also an important part of my life.  I do all I can to show children that writing is for so much more than just school. 

I have high expectations for all my students, but I am beside them every step of the process required for attaining those expectations.  I look forward to having another wonderful year at Banquete High School - a year filled with reading and writing - learning and growing.
