• EMPLOYEE LEAVES AND ABSENCES

    Banquete ISD offers employees paid and unpaid leaves of absence in time of personal need. The district handbook and online policy manual describe the basic type of leaves available and restrictions on leaves of absence. (See links below)

    Discretionary Use- Use of leave is at the individual employee’s discretion.

    Discretionary leave shall not be allowed without penalty of loss of a full day’s wages during or on: (THIS MEANS YOU WILL HAVE A DAILY RATE DEDUCTION.)

    • The first week of a new semester;
    • The day immediately before or after a school holiday;
    • Day(s) scheduled for end of semester or end of year examinations
    • Day(s) scheduled for STAAR or EOC test; and
    • Days of professional or staff development.
  • FAMILY AND MEDICAL LEAVE ACT

    The Family and Medical Leave Act is a federal law requiring covered employers to provide employees job-protected unpaid leave for qualified medical  and family reasons. These reasons include personal or family illness; military service; family military leave; pregnancy, adoption, or the foster care placement of a child.   • CATASTROPHIC SICK LEAVE

    Banquete ISD does not have a board approved Catastrophic Illness or Injury Leave Donation plan. District employees, who from their own accord, wish to donate up to 2 days annually to a district co-worker may do so by completing the Catastrophic Illness or Injury Leave Donation form. District employees may donate only state personal leave for use by the eligible employee.
